Atomic Carrots is making waves in the world of marine conservation with our latest project—a permanent exhibit entitled “Turning the Tide on Marine Debris" at the Padre Island National Seashore Visitor Center., complete with a captivating Plinko Game, set to redefine the visitor experience at an undisclosed park.

At the heart of this exhibit is a giant Plinko Game where visitors can drop chips, each representing the most commonly found marine debris washed up on the park's shore. As the chips descend to an origin bin, the interactive display vividly showcases the consequences of marine debris on our oceans. The backdrop, as well as the chips, is a testament to our dedication to artistry, with hand-illustrated designs that strike a delicate balance between whimsy and biological accuracy concerning marine life.

Our artistic team, armed with their passion for marine conservation, has meticulously hand-painted animals and scenes for Padre Island National Seashore's upcoming marine debris exhibit, "Turning the Tide on Marine Debris." This collaboration extends our commitment to using creative endeavors as a means to educate and inspire change.

But the impact doesn't stop there. Recognizing the need for accessibility, we're also developing a portable tabletop version of the exhibit for traveling purposes. This version comes equipped with two pop-up banners, ensuring that the important message about marine debris and its effects can reach diverse audiences beyond the park's walls.

In a meticulous endeavor to uphold historical accuracy and contribute to the preservation of significant military history, Atomic Carrots embarked on a challenging project – the crafting of four cannon wheels. These wheels, destined for two Japanese Type 95 Field Guns from the World War II era, were intended as crucial replacements for the iconic artillery pieces housed at the US Marine Corps Museum in Parris Island, South Carolina.

The process began with a deep dive into historical research and understanding the intricacies of the original cannon wheels. Armed with this knowledge, our skilled artists use a combination of traditional and cutting-edge techniques to bring this historical project to life.

The wheel parts underwent a sand casting process in aluminum, a method chosen for its durability and suitability for intricate details. 3D prints played a pivotal role in creating molds, while CNC machining ensured precision in the fabrication process. This amalgamation of traditional craftsmanship with modern technology allowed us to replicate the intricate design of the original cannon wheels.

Each wheel was carefully crafted to meet not only historical accuracy standards but also stringent structural integrity requirements. The goal was not just to replace parts but to pay homage to the legacy of the Type 95 Field Guns were captured our enemies

Atomic Carrots is proud to unveil an immersive transformation of a former banquet hall into a captivating gallery that narrates Marshall County's rich transportation history. The re-designed space, aptly named the Transportation Gallery, takes visitors on a journey through time, offering a poignant and educational experience.

The first section, aptly titled "Origins," pays homage to the Potawatomi people, the original inhabitants of the region. Central to this tribute is a meticulously crafted wigwam, serving as a poignant representation of traditional Potawatomi homes. Positioned against window panels adorned with a picturesque fall forest, printed on translucent vinyl, the setting not only captures the essence of the Potawatomi's dwellings but also the challenging weather they faced during the forced removal from their lands.

Collaborating closely with the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center, we were honored to incorporate their valuable insights, text, and images into the Origins section. The Cultural Heritage Center's contribution not only enhances the authenticity of the exhibit but also ensures a respectful representation of the Potawatomi's history.

An innovative touch to the gallery is the custom-designed reading rails, strategically placed to guide visitors through the narratives seamlessly. The title of each storyline is displayed perpendicular to the wall, reminiscent of a train station sign, subtly emphasizing the overarching theme of transportation that runs through Marshall County's history.

Beyond aesthetic appeal, the Transportation Gallery stands as a testament to Atomic Carrots' commitment to blending creativity with historical accuracy.
